Client Accountant

Payroll ManagerOur client is a major voluntary health organization, seeks to prevent specific diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.
The Payroll Manager is an integral member of the Accounting group and will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources department. Job details are listed below:
Manages bi-weekly payroll.
Manages the Flex-Cafeteria Plan and all related deductions
Verifies quarterly and annual payroll reports (W-2)
Files all quarterly tax returns, Federal and various states
Prepares monthly summary account analysis (detailing and verifying the General Ledger balance sheet accounts)
Prepares and reconciles monthly statements to General Ledger balance for regular and payroll accounts
Prepares monthly 403b pension reports and assists in the preparation of the 5500 report
Communicates with various agencies regarding payroll information
Handles benefits survey reports
Computes monthly insurance premiums for National office and affiliates; maintains in-house billing for all staff and participating affiliates
Handles correspondence regarding enrollments and terminations.
Provides census data to carrier on an as needed basis.Base Salary plus BenefitsRef: 1141944
REQUIREMENTS
The Ideal candidate will have:3-5 years experience in the payroll function, preferably in a non-profit settingHigh School diploma, 4 year degree is preferredKnowledge of IRS regulations related to the payroll function; Department of Labor reporting requirement; tax shelter annuitiesStrong Excel and ADP experienceAbility to interact with all levels of staffAbility to function both independently and as a member of a teamMust possess a high degree of tact, discretion and sensitivity to all staff and volunteersMaintains effectiveness even when under pressureIs well-organized and a self starter
