Chief Compliance Officer

A multi-strategy hedge fund seeks a qualified candidate to take on the newly-created role of Chief Compliance Officer. The role of the Compliance Officer is to ensure that the firm is following all guidelines and procedures that have been set and to ensure that all dealings meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for ongoing NASD compliance monitoring, opening new accounts (averaging one to two per week), setting up private placement documents, employment agreements, and email monitoring
Dealings with traders
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree required; law degree not necessary
4 to 8 years of relevant experience; Hedge Fund compliance a big plus
Must have strong experience in the Investment Advisers Act of 1940
Knowledge of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 is essential
Knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Commodities Exchange Act is a strong plus
Series 7, 24, 4, 14, and 3 are beneficial
Ability to identify and analyze regulatory and compliance issues in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment
