Qualified candidate will operate encoding equipment to inscribe various magnetic fields on credit and debit transactions for sorter entry. Responsible for ensuring transactions are balanced for reconcilement purpose. Accuracy is essential to ensure customer satisfaction and to minimize charge-offs to the corporation. Responsible for the processing of all MICR transactions received from Consumer Banking Centers and other internal PNC Departments that generate MICR documents. Timely completion of each days incoming transactions are required to ensure that external critical posting applications to CORE and General Ledger can be initiated to ensure timely updating. Researches and resolves teller/customer and internal out-of-balance situations. Provides appropriate adjustment data for the Automated Proof Correction System (APCS), which generates customer notifications. Responsible for identifying cross regional transactions for all markets. Responsible on a daily basis for obtaining required processing supplies and performing routine machine maintenance tasks. Communicates with Work Leader and/or Supervisor in the event of problem situations to effect resolution. Performs other job related duties as required.
Delays in this area directly impact the posting file update for customer's deposit accounts, branch teller balances and general ledger updating and accounting. Credits and/or debits encoded incorrectly can result in erroneous posting to internal and external bank accounts, which in turn can cause a loss of funds to the bank as well as negative customer service results. Requires prolong sitting at the encoding equipment and constant machine noise. Must be able to work in a high production, deadline oriented environment. Must be able to work until completion of the processing cycle with additional hours during peak processing periods. This job requires an individual that is able to produce accurate results.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED. Equivalent work experience related to essential functions helpful. Eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity and math skills are essential. 10-key skills are a plus. Position requires working in a high production, deadline oriented environment.
