Business Banking Area Mgr 2
Effectively manages the loan process within the area from origination through booking. Assists CLOs/SCLs in evaluating the viability of credit requests early in the application process and in utilizing decisioning tools and credit analysis skills to make appropriate credit and structuring decisions. Coaches CLOs in effective negotiation and sales skills to effectively and efficiently close new lending relationships. Partners with Senior Credit Officers (SCLO's) to ensure the development of CLO underwriting skills. Ensures that all compliance and regulatory guidelines are met. Provides CBB management with competitor intelligence related to products, pricing, and packaging of financial products and services. Keeps current on industry trends by monitoring competition, and benchmarking customer and employee expectations. Provides recommendations as appropriate. Manages the market through internal channels (bank partners, etc.) and external channels (customers, referral sources, media).
Proactively supports strategic and tactical enterprise-wide initiative relating to Emerging Markets, including but not limited to loan programs for African, Latino, and Asian Americans, and women. Guides CLOs/SCLOs in effectively passing new customer relationships to RMs and other internal partners. Coaches CLOs/SCLs to identify cross-sell opportunities, ensuring that prospects and customers financial services needs are assessed and referred to appropriate WFB partners. Provides business-lending support to Retail partners.
Effectively coaches, develops, and guides CLOs/SCLOs on a weekly basis utilizing appropriate Coaching Template and by transferring sales knowledge, skills and framework. Effectively recruits team member candidates. Seeks opportunities to broaden knowledge base. Supports employees in their career development. Identifies and implements recognition programs.
Supervises CLOs and SCLOs ensuring their success and providing performance related feedback (utilizing counseling templates) on an ongoing basis. Ultimately, the number of CLOs reaching minimum volume goals will be the measure of an AM IIs success. Effectively manages area expenses and develops plans to re-deploy favorable expense variances toward high return activities. Identifies ways to reduce cost of new and existing business acquisition. Actively involved in community activities within the area. Participates as a speaker and represents Wells Fargo at key Chamber of Commerce, business exposition and small business development events in local communities. Directs CLO involvement in similar activities.
Minimum Qualifications
* Minimum Qualifications:Must possess demonstrated credit analyis skills with an extensive background in analyzing and understanding financial statements.
Extensive knowledge of bank products. Ability to assess and analyze customer financial condition, industry trends, and competitive position.
Builds high performing teams. Develops and maintains strong partnerships with other Wells Fargo business managers/leaders. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to transfer management, sales, coaching and mentoring knowledge.
Strong negotiation skills.
* Preferred Skills:This position requires that the incumbent has an undergraduate degree (finance major and/or advanced degree preferred), 8 to 10 years business-to-business sales and business development experience. Must have a minimum of 5 years demonstrated credit proficiency. 3 - 5 years of sales management experience. An undergraduate degree (finance major) preferred. Proficient with Windows software, customer contact management systems and spreadsheet applications.
