Branch Manager - Mortgage

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manages day-to-day activities of Mortgage Branch, including allocating work to staff with objective of maximizing efficiencies and managing expenses. Acts as liaison to Region’s/Division's construction and sales departments. Conducts regular training and communications sessions with Region’s/Division's sales force. May ensure Homebuilder’s Financial Network (HFN) operating policies and procedures are followed. May interact daily with HFN staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Allocates work of Mortgage staff and subsequently reviews for quality, completeness and timeliness (including processing timeframes, RESPA requirements and weekly and monthly status reports) and assists as needed to ensure positive results.Maintains open lines of communication with Region/Division (construction and sales departments in particular) and maybe HFN.Prepares monthly operating reports.Conducts routine employee performance reviews.Stays abreast of new government requirements, real estate laws, and policy changes within the company.May maintain updated manuals of all new policies and modifications to published HFN guidelines and institutes measurement processes that promote "zero defects" and ensures that Mortgage staff informed promptly of any policy or process changes.May recruit and hire loan consultants and loan processors for the branch.May pre-qualify FHA/VA and conventional loans to ensure marketability and compliance with underwriting standards. May monitor the applications of alternative loan programs.May devise strategic plan to expand market share with sales associates in branch area.May recommend training as needed by branch staff.May control operating costs as directed by Management.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:A real estate license is required.College degree preferred but may substitute equivalent experience in mortgage banking origination.Minimum of 5 years overall mortgage lending experience with at least 3 years in management.Thorough knowledge of FHLMC/FNMA and FHA/VA guidelines and private mortgage insurance requirements.Creative problem solving skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and be self-reliant.Computer skills.
