The successful candidate will manage the Accounting Department, which includes general accounting and controls, accounts payable, wire transfers, money desk, financial reporting and analysis, call report preparation, budgeting, ALM modeling, and external audit coordination. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of the Bank’s accounting functions, including the interface with the Bank’s core data system.
• Direct the monthly general ledger close and financial statement consolidation.
• Prepare regulatory reports for the Bank.
• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Perform data analysis and prepare, or assist in the preparation of, various management reports and periodic financial statements.
• Design or modify custom GL reports and/or spreadsheets as needed.
• Verify/review monthly security income and receivables
• Coordinate/prepares schedules for auditors.
REQUIREMENTS
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of regulatory and accounting industry regulations related to banking.
• Work related experience should demonstrate an in-depth background in accounting, preparation of financial statements, and consolidation of various accounting entities with progressive levels of responsibility.
• Knowledge of investment accounting FASB requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Windows platform, MS Excel spreadsheet, and database management.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively, with minimal amounts of supervision.
