Auto Custom Finance Underwriter- Schaumburg, IL

As an Auto Finance Underwriter you will review auto finance loan applications of credit and render appropriate credit decision within credit policy and in compliance with all regulations. Structure approvals to maximize profit and enhance dealer relationships. Decision applications submitted by premier dealer relationships placing emphasis on response time, quantity of applications processed, and quality of applications approved. Meet or exceed agreed upon targets for ROE, volume, conversion ratios, and other business metrics. Coordinate with Indirect Relationship Managers and assist in on-going business development by telephone and through a scheduled outside calling effort. Initiate sales calls via telephone and where appropriate, prepare written follow-up. Provide prompt, accurate response to all internal and external customer inquiries. REQUIREMENTS


Requires college degree and 3 to 5 years Auto Finance underwriting experience, or equivalent. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires strong problem solving, organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Must be highly skilled in credit decisioning and have a solid understanding of consumer credit, applicable federal and state regulations relative to consumer lending. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of indirect loan and lease programs, as well as a broad knowledge of bank products and services. Must be PC literate and have a good working knowledge of common application software. A results orientation and high level of personal initiative are also required. Sub-prime lending experience required.
