Accounting/Operations Manager summary:
Our client, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company headquartered in Chicago, is looking for an Accounting/Operations Manager for their downtown Chicago location. This is a world class organization with more than 100,000 employees in 48 countries. This person will also work with Treasury and Germany Controllership to ensure the necessary information is obtained for various footnote disclosure. They will be the main point of contact for Global Controllership and BPO Central Finance issues/queries, ensure correct setup in SAP for the recording of consolidation and other investment activity. The incumbent will also prepare quarterly balance sheet analysis for consolidated entities, including a variance analysis for each account, review monthly balance sheet variance analysis schedules for consolidated entities to comply with Sarbanes Oxley controls, and prepare and analyze quarterly estimate versus actual variance schedules for consolidated entities to comply with Sarbanes Oxley controls.
In addition, they will ensure monthly reports and results are
accurately represented at the end of each month (trading partner, exchange rates, etc.) Resolve issues associated with affiliate accounting issues. Review the debt roll forward for consolidated entities. This position will liaise with Global and Local Controllership, Treasury, and BPO as well as central Finance.
Accounting/Operations Manager is also responsible for:
Reviewing and analyzing affiliate accounting financial results (J/E’s, reports and reconciliations) for BPO/Avanade/Other.
Cash purchases and liquidations of investments.
Performing reconciliation of Realized Gains/(Losses) on Investments, Net Roll forward of the investment activity to be used for the cash flow statement.
Completing various monthly reports.
Resolving reconciliations between the IRS and SAP
Calculating and recording the FAS 133 adjustments on a quarterly basis.
Providing guidance to Global Controllership in the preparation of footnotes and MD&A sections related to investments on a quarterly basis, which includes (a) Other Comprehensive Income Analysis and (b) Equity Price Risk Analysis.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
5 to 8 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of Affiliate Accounting (BPO, Avanade, Other.)
Knowledge of Finance Operations preferred but not required.
Working knowledge of SAP preferred but not required.
