GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary functions of the Asset Management Analyst position are to oversee and coordinate the efficient management and utilization of PJM’s information technology assets. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing the asset management policies and procedures for all of the ITS operations at PJM. This individual will be the principle owner of all policies, standards and procedures related to asset management and as such, will also be the prime enforcer of such practices. This analyst will be expected to have a clear understanding of the tools and processes in place to determine the asset management position within the technology infrastructure. At any time, this analyst will be expected to have an understanding of the current total value asset management position for ITS.
This analyst responsibility includes, but is not limited to, coordination with the Purchasing Department for the acquisition and disposal of assets, coordination of the billing and expenses, overseeing the maintenance and tracking inventory for assets, and participating in vendor management. Usage reporting and benchmarking is also an important function of this position.

Required:Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or equivalent experience.
0-5 years experience (Band 3).
Minimum of 5 years relevant, professional experience with 2 to 3 years experience in an Asset Management or Finance or Procurement function (Band 4).
General knowledge of IT functions, technologies, and services, particularly those relating to network, desktop and telecommunications.
Knowledge of Intel Processor workstations and computer peripherals and servers.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
An understanding of general accounting principles is required.
Fluency in desktop office applications such as spreadsheet and word processing, as well as finance (SAP) and inventory tracking systems is essential.
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels are required.
Preferred:
Accredited accounting or asset management courses are desirable.Essential Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies and creates processes and formalized methods in order to manage and track the hardware, software and usage of the various distributed technology assets within PJM.
Maintains, monitors and tracks distributed computing hardware and software asset inventories. Includes management and tracking of software licenses.
Liaison for Information & Technology Services Division to the Procurement & Contracts Department and vendors for the acquisition of desktop and server equipment including computer hardware, servers, peripherals, software and printers.
Coordinates with Support Services and vendors for the disposal and recycle of retired desktop computing equipment.
Works with the Technical Support staff to assure proper recording of workstation activities.
Receives equipment and obtains certifications of delivery and conducts check against order.
Process invoices for desktop computing equipment, software, and cabling services including but not limited to PCs, printers, and external network. Ensure accuracy of all billing, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
Adheres to determined standards for purchases of computing equipment, software, including but not limited to PCs, printers, and external network.
Monitor and track expenses to budget for distributed computing funds, as well as for related CIP projects.
Works with department liaisons to determine proper asset replacement within determined standards.
Develops and orchestrates PC deployment project maintaining budget constraints and guidelines. Works in conjunction with contractors and desktop technicians to maintain deployment inventory and status.
Coordinates with vendor and customer requests for cable installs for data and voice communication.
Works in conjunction with Security Management, to determine the correctly classify an asset according to defined scheme.
Provides reports to management team.
Provides project implementation support to meet IT goals and objectives.
