Full Job Title: Advanced Computing Technologist Level 5 Skills Management Title Advanced ComputingJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Phantom Works (PW)Job Description: Senior Advanced Computing Technologist performing research, development, assessment, and deployment of advanced computing technologies on behalf of Boeing programs. Works with technologies associated with network-centric operations, information management, system health, and software engineering. Creates, prototypes, and develops technology solutions that tangibly reduce cost and generate revenue for the company. Works with engineers, application developers, vendors, and universities to define creative solutions to complex technical problems. Leads others in marketing, designing and delivering solutions that involve emerging advanced computing technology. Works closely with external customers in defining requirements, developing innovative solutions, and integrating technology into their environment. Provides functional guidance to less experienced staff; acts in a technical leadership capacity and assumes program and project management responsibilities as appropriate. Participates in activities of the technical community and provides leadership in authoring and reviewing papers for presentation at technical conferences. Competencies Candidate should exhibit the ability to assess, conceive, and develop advanced computing technologies with respect to network-centric operations, system health and usage monitoring, and information management technologies as well as service-oriented concepts and implementations in software engineering. He or she must be able to provide leadership and vision to team members on complex technical tasks. Experience with experimental and prototype environments critical. Candidate must have extensive experience in several of the following areas: system architecture and design, object-oriented analysis and design, system health technologies, including prognostics and diagnostics, web services, information management, semantic integration, agent-based technologies, data mining, and software engineering. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as effective interpersonal and program management skills.
