Senior AccountantSenior Accountant Position Summary:Will assist the Controller in a variety of tasks related to the Company’s cash and debt management; insurance and risk management; and maintenance of the corporate general ledger. Prepare various compliance reports and ensure accurate record keeping is maintained.
A senior-level exempt position requiring comprehensive knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures. A fully qualified professional, the Senior Accountant applies concepts in performing advanced accounting functions to solve problems of a non-routine nature. Works under minimal supervision.Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
Prepares bi-weekly payroll entry to the general ledger and month end payroll accrual including fringe benefit calculation.
Maintains the general ledger through the Syspro Accounting System.
Performs the month end maintenance of the general ledger including preparation of various journal entries, supporting schedules and financial reports.
Responsible for the cash book/bank entries and preparation of ACH/wire payments.
Assists as needed to facilitate bank reconciliations and daily cash visibility report.
Assists the Controller in preparation of schedules in support of the Federal and various state tax returns including the preparation of documentation for various tax audits.
Responsible for coordination of preparation of various schedules and documents for required for independent financial audit.
Maintain other accounts and perform accounting duties required by the Controller.
REQUIREMENTS
Senior Accountant Qualifications:BA in Accounting
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
Corporate Accounting experience desired.
Requires good communication, analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to prioritize.
Advance knowledge of Excel required.
