Account Collection Representative

Times Community Newspapers, the largest local newspaper group in Northern Virginia is looking for full-time Account Collection Representative in Herndon, Virginia.


Duties Include:
* Fully protect the company’s investment in Accounts Receivable by prevention of bad debt by effective credit analysis and collection of past due balances.

* Carefully research credit applications, call references, and submit information to Credit Manager.

* Make credit decisions in the Credit Manager’s absence.

* Maintain a log of applications sent out, return receipt noted, and weekly sent to Ad Managers. Maintain Credit Application File.

* Assist the Credit Manager in maintaining accounts receivable aging percentages through timely and efficient collections.

* Send out statements, tearsheets or other customer requests.

* Works closely with Sales staff, A/R staff, as well as customers, to keep lines of communication open, to foster understanding, resolve problems and enforce company policy.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Two (2) years minimum collection experience, computer knowledge and skills, excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving and analytical skills, and a phone voice and manner.
