AVP, IT Financial Planning & Analysis

As the head of the IT Finance function, the AVP, IT Financial Planning and Analysis plays a highly visible role in leading the financial analysis and accounting capabilities within the IT organization.The ideal candidate will have experience in managerial and cost accounting principles and techniques with special emphasis on activity-based analysis, cost determination, project costing, and cost allocation as they relate to an IT organization.
Financial accounting principles and practices. Special emphasis on those aspects pertaining to software development, hardware, fixed assets and cost recognition.
IT planning & budgeting techniques, supported by a strong skill in financial analysis.
Knowledge of the role and major issues associated with running an IT function. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure components and architecture.
Knowledge of internal control frameworks and practices.
Strong knowledge of project management techniques.
Solid ability to identify both business & information technology processes and risks.A quick learner who can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty, and contend with ambiguity. Demonstrates "Organizational Agility" in multiple facets, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal clients. Able to deftly manage in a dual reporting structure (IT and Finance).Effective communicator, well practiced at focused listening and presenting ideas in a clear manner to diverse audiences.
Translates complex information into clearly understandable financial and business terms.
Capable of building effective teams, including project teams drawn from individuals who report to other organizations.
Comfortable setting and managing to multiple priorities, and working to resolve priorities that can conflict. Able to measure work and focus on the important.Does not avoid conflict; able to diffuse high-tension situations.
Operates to very high ethical standards and is able to serve as a steward for company information and assets.Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Operations. Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in some combination of the following areas:
Accounting and financial management (planning & analysis)
Information Technology Management
Professional certification (CPA, CMA designation).
