AVP, Financial Reporting

Responsible for the preparation of the Board of Directors’ monthly reporting package, the Quarterly FDIC Call Report, Holding Company Fed reports and actual to budget analyses. In addition, the AVP of Financial Reporting assists in the preparation and documentation of other regulatory filings (i.e. 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, FDIC and FRB filings, etc.) and provides SOX compliance, acquisition due diligence, account reconciliation and other accounting support as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of the Monthly Board of Directors Package, which includes:
1. Balance Sheet and Income Statements Comparisons of Plan and actual prior month results
2. Yield analysis
3. Ratio analysis
4. Loan originations
5. Retail vs. Commercial deposit breakout
6. Ratio analysis
7. Peer comparative data
* Ensure that the Monthly Board of Directors Package support and documentation is well organized and maintained for use by management and internal and external auditors.
* Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Monthly Board of Directors Package SOX documentation and assist in the development of the SOX testing plan for the Monthly Board of Directors Package.
2. Preparation of the FDIC Call Report on a quarterly basis. This would include: * Understanding and communicating Call Reporting Instructions to those individuals required to submit data to Financial Reporting. * Complete all call report schedules properly based on an understanding of the instructions, the information within the general ledger and the information submitted by the various departments.
* Ensure that Call Report support and documentation is well organized and maintained for use by management and internal and external auditors.
* Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Call Report SOX documentation and assist in the development of the SOX testing plan for the Call Report.
3. Preparation of Federal Reserve Bank reports for the holding company, including: * Annual report of bank holding companies * Consolidated financial statements for bank holding companies
* Parent Co. only financial statements for large bank holding companies
* Bank holding company report of insured depository institutions
4. Preparation of Actual to Budget variance analyses which includes: * Analyzing and researching actual to budget variances for monthly, quarterly and year-to-date periods by communicating with department managers throughout the Bank. * Prepare written analyses of the actual to budget variances for monthly, quarterly and year-to-date periods.
* Ensure that support for written analyses is well organized and maintained for use by management.
5. Assist in the maintenance and compliance of SOX policies assigned to the Financial Reporting department.
6. Assist in the preparation and documentation of financial statements for the Bank’s benefit plans.
7. Assist in researching and implementing new FDIC Call Reporting requirements and FASB pronouncements and SEC and other regulatory requirements as needed.
8. Liaison with the Company’s external auditors and the FDIC during financial statement, SOX and Call Report audits.
9. Provide acquisition support through due diligence, pre-acquisition accounting research and post acquisition accounting and analyses.
10. Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in accounting or finance recommended. Minimum 5-7 years of financial reporting or similar experience in a public company, preferably with a bank or similar financial institution. Individual should possess strong computer skills (Excel, Word), strong knowledge of accounting systems and excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
