AVP Financial Control

Provide analysis, make recommendations and implement changes for core business and regulatory projects (Basel II, Sarbanes Oxley, I-Flex). Specifically: Basel II (international convergence of capital measurement and capital standards)Analyse and understand data feeds to meet Basel II definition requirements.Write and implement policy and procedures to meet the Basel II requirement for 97% accuracy. Sarbanes OxleyReview the work-papers to ascertain they support the financial statements in a clear transparent manner. i-Flex (banking software)Test, prepare reconciliations and review the bank's compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and write procedures, update the FED Manual and develop procedures for the Management Accounting Returns (MARs).Co-ordinate the preparation of information for the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring assigned customer groups are aware of their performance and any variance from agreed targets.Provide financial information, interpretation and guidance, which will enable customer groups – both within the US operations and finance teams in the UK – to gain a full understanding of the financial implications linked to their decisions.Assume responsibility for projects affecting the local area as defined by senior management, participating in testing and reviewing information as well as co-ordinating plans and resources to achieve agreed deliverables within the required time, cost and quality parameters.
REQUIREMENTS
The proper candidate will possess the following:BS in Accounting* Ideally 5 to 8+ years of experience in Banking or in a Financial Services Industry with the primary focus in Public/Private Accounting and Auditing.
* Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley issues (although not required).* Accuracy and attention to detail.* Ability to work to tight deadlines.* High quality written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.*Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, etc
