ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Accounts Payable Clerk (1st Shift)
Starting Wage: $11-$13 per hour DOE

SUMMARY:
Obtains financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.

*Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook preferred. Must have the ability to learn accounting software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

General Accounting
Perform routine duties, following numerous and varied standardized procedures and accounting practices. Compute and prepare reports and analyses relating to various accounts and business segements. Maintain files. Operate word processing and spreadsheet equipment.

Accounts Payable
Match invoices to receiving and purchasing documents, check calculations, research invoice data as required. Code and enter invoices into system and schedule payments within established parameters. Respond to vendor inquiries on the status of accounts payable. Prepare tax statements to be reported to the Florida Department of Revenue. Assist with company purchasing card administration. Perform various month-end and year-end routines.
