Our aim is to deliver consistent investment results to our clients with distinctive and innovative services.ABS / CMBS Analyst Fixed Income Investment TeamOpportunityAsset-backed securities and commercial mortgage-backed securities represent two of the fastest growing sectors in the fixed income market in terms of market value and complexity. We are currently expanding these capabilities with the goal of extracting more alpha from the sectors as well as providing ample resources to our growing global fixed income product lines. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to be part of a premier global investment management firm that provides investment counsel services to institutional clients. Global fixed income assets under management currently exceed $200 billion. The successful candidate will play an important role in an investment organization which relies on a disciplined investment process.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidates will possess strong investment and communication skills, and will partner closely with portfolio managers. He/she will respond to the investment needs of numerous global portfolios and strategies. Specifically, the position will be responsible for:Identifying potentially attractive investment opportunities in the ABS and CMBS sectors;Research, valuation and communication of those securities being considered;Performing surveillance of existing ABS and CMBS positions;Utilizing sector expertise in guidance of the firm’s operational platforms; and Participating in fixed income strategy meetings.Preferred Qualifications:Ideal Candidate ProfileWe seek an experienced, intelligent and highly motivated individual with good interpersonal skills. The successful candidate’s background should include:Experience in credit markets with an emphasis on research and valuation of ABS and / or CMBS;Uncompromising attention to detail and compliance;Demonstrated ability to work independently in a disciplined and results oriented manner;A collegial temperament suitable for an environment requiring substantial input from a variety of sources to ensure effective execution of the process;An understanding of ultimate business goals; andAchievement of or progress towards an advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred.LocationThe position is located in Chicago.
