Technical Hotline Specialist, Rockleigh, NJ – Volvo

The following opportunity is with Volvo in Rockleigh, New Jersey.

Job Summary includes but is not limited to:
-To increase customer satisfaction by providing Volvo Dealer Technicians with prompt, accurate technical
assistance in fixing complex repairs.
-To capture and retrieve diagnostic information and to see any new repair trends becoming an early
warning system and immediate reference source for Field and Factory.

Principal Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To provide assistance on the technical Hot-Line to help Volvo Dealer Technicians in delivering the highest quality repairs in compliance with Volvo established repair, methods and procedures.
- Assist Volvo Dealer personnel with technical troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures. Investigate and
resolve difficult repair situations by duplicating and then testing them in the Technical Hot-Line workshop.
- Participate on in-depth analysis.
- Document all technical problems reported by dealer technicians and enter the data into the Hot-Line database system.
- Maintain the Technical Hot-Line support database and prepare technical reports on product quality issues as required.
- Coordinate with Regions Technical Specialists and Field Factory Engineers on problems that require their intervention.
- Rotate to the field and other parts of VCC on a regular basis to refresh knowledge and skill level.
REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications include but area not limited to:
- Candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- A minimum of four years experience with the Volvo Product line and a minimum of six years as a technician; Service Instructor or Shop Foreman.
- Extensive knowledge of diagnostic procedures and test equipment as well as excellent communications and PC skills are required.
- A master Technician rating and prior Vista participation strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate well over the telephone.
-Gathers and uses information logically to reach a clear understanding of situations and problems.
- Looks for new and innovative solutions to problems and finds creative ways to produce results.
- Ability to handle several tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to utilize PC to communicate, track trends, and retrieve information.
- Ability to do presentations on Technical Conferences, Master Tech meetings and Supplier meetings

Candidates ideally will possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree
