Systems Administrator

Independently motivated Windows IT professional needed to join our growing team in Redwood City. We are an established and highly successful company with a commitment to cutting edge technologies - anything that is pre Windows 2003 has been decommissioned and we went live with SQL 2005 five days after its release. Maintains Desktop portable and server based Windows systems
Sets up and organize User Accounts, Groups and OUs in Active Directory
Performs preventative maintenance procedures; Perform system troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems
Install, upgrade, and configure system files and services
Establish processes and procedures for systems administration
Maintain computer-related hardware and peripherals
Coordinate equipment purchases
Deploy automated Software Systems (SMS 2003)
Assist with the training of new staff members
Be on-call as neededRequired SkillsWindows 2000/XP Platform and Windows 2000/2003 Advanced Server required
Solid understanding of web servers
Strong networking skills
Moderate understanding of Microsoft SQL Administration
Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience
Must possess working knowledge of and direct experience with operating system configuration files and hardware/software interoperability issues
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Acute attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization
