Store Management - NJ Newark

Strauss Discount Auto is the premier automotive aftermarket retail chain in the Northeast with over 100 stores serving New York, New Jersey, and the Greater Philadelphia area. Due to our rapid growth we have immediate openings for bright, ambitious and career oriented Store Managers in the Newark, NJ area.

The Store Management position responsibilities include:
Select and hire associates
Conduct performance reviews on associates
Provide required counseling of store associates, including termination for cause
Assist in training of associates
Provide primary protection of company assets, including facility, product, funds and equipment, including responding to alarm calls
Prepare weekly work schedules, as per published guidelines on total hours used, and proper allocation of hours on a daily basis.
Respond to all written and verbal communications that require follow-up
Maintain an adequate inventory of saleable goods, within financial constraints
Attend training classes and meetings, as directed, or participate in on-line training as required
Attain ASE certifications within prescribed time limits.
Perform all duties expected of subordinates
Prepare and make bank deposits as per policy, where applicable
Ensure all associates comply with company policies and procedures
Responsible for overseeing overall operational execution of both store and shop
Ensure compliance with all corporate and governmental regulations
Maintain a safe working and shopping environment
Responsible for financial performance of assigned location
Submit all required paperwork on a timely basis
Work with District Management to resolve customer complaints
Representing company at legal and administrative procedures as required
REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications:

Good verbal communication skills
Basic Computer Literacy
Customer focused, friendly attitude
Basic automotive systems and parts knowledge
Basic automotive service operations knowledge
Adhere to published Standards of Conduct

Basic Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry items that weigh 50 pounds
Capable of standing for majority of their shift
Some reaching overhead and bending and climbing to get product required
