CSX Transportation, a leader in transportation services, has an immediate need in NASHVILLE for:

SPECIAL AGENTResponsibilities: Protect shipments entrusted to our company against theft and vandalism. Take the lead to ensure the safety of all employees, customers, motoring public, and pedestrians while on or about CSX property. Investigate crimes on or against the railroad to include thefts from railcars, trailers and container shipments, vandalism to company property. switch tampering, track obstructions, damage to signals/crossing gates and stoning of trains. Present and participate in Operation Lifesaver and other public service activities as directed by supervision. Observe and report any safety issues or anomalies. Police derailments to protect exposed freight and protect public and employee safety. This position involves extensive driving/working around moving equipment and other potentially dangerous situations requiring 100% compliance with safety rules, knowledge and application of defensive driving techniques and continuous focus on safety.

Qualifications: Experience as a certified full-time police officer with a state, county, federal or municipal police department is required. Must be able to be bonded and certified as a police officer in the state of Tennessee, able to pass an in-depth personal background investigation and company physical exam. Four-year college degree in Law Enforcement related studies is strongly preferred. investigative police experience strongly preferred. Training with WMD and hazardous materials is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in use of computer, able to compose and write investigative reports. Must possess valid drivers license. Must meet physical requirements of the job which also includes walking on uneven ground along railroad right-of-ways, etc.
