We currently have an opening for a Shop Technician.PRIMARY DUTIES:Removes and installs external components such as guards, tracks, roller frames, cabs, masts, forks, etc.Removes and installs major components such as engines, transmissions, steering clutches, steer axles, drive axles, etc.Cleans parts.Keeps work area clean and orderly.Performs limited adjustments and limited component disassembly and assembly.Performs limited machine diagnosis.Assembles new machines and attachments.Test operates products or equipment to make sure repairs are complete and accurate.Accurately complete detailed service reports and account for time on each job.NOTES:Position is subject to extended work hours as business dictates.Current and past performance in department assignments will be considered as a part of the selection process.Transfers between departments are contingent upon realistic resolution of any vacancy caused by transfer from current department.Duties may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.RIGGS is an equal opportunity employer providing equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, physical or mental handicap or veteran's status.
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent.Experience in repair of heavy construction equipment.Ability to troubleshoot and determine appropriate repair procedure(s).Ability to maintain Company required records and reports.Ability to safely operate a forkliftAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.Ability to work odd and/or additional hours.Some overnight travel may be required.CareerBuilder Related Terms: service tech, service technician, field technician
