Service Technician Team Leader NEEDED!!
Department: Store-Fixed OperationsDealer: 2056-MAROONE NISSAN OF KENDALLJob Description: Statement of Belief: Because I sincerely care about my customers, as people, caring for their wants and needs, my daily professional activities continually result in absolute customer satisfaction, bringing me job satisfaction and pride.The Service Group Leader is responsible for supervising a group of Technicians the size of and skill levels designated by management. The Service Group Leader is also responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. The Service Group Leader reports to the Service Director.Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for quality control of work performed by each group member (dispatch to skill, train to fill voids, have techs test drive)
Responsible for overall productivity of the group (keep hit % between 60% and 80% - move objectives when appropriate)
Work with each group member to assure performance toward objectives
Determine it employee is in good standing with company
Make final hiring decision for group personnel
Meet with Service Director weekly to discuss:
1. Individual technicians performance toward objective
2. Personal problems that may be developing
Assure that all group employees are conforming with company policies (at work on time, work a full day, etc.)
Determine training needs fro the group and relate those needs to management
Set completion times for jobs
Dispatch work
Flag up repair orders at end of day
Assure that flat rate assessments are true and accurate
Cover previous days flat rate performance with all group members each day (verbal, must be consistant)
Designate a lead technician (this is an earned right, dont just pick one)
Work with Service Director to develop production forecasts.Duties and Responsibilities (Technician):
Attend daily 8am group meeting
Receive repair orders from Group Leader, log on ASM scheduling form
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Maintain objective hit % of no less than 60%
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
Advise ASM immediately if additional work is needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
Document work performed on back of repair order hard copy
Punch clock hard copy on all factory paid repairs
Road-test vehicles to ensure of quality repair, keeping in mind that customers vehicles should never be smoked in, or used for personal errands
Supervise work of any apprentice technicians, as assigned
Promptly attend all technician service bulletins
Attend factory sponsored training classes
Keep abreast of factory technical service bulletins
Meet with Group Leader individually, weekly. Discuss concerns or problems for review with Service Director
Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean
Keep shop area neat and clean, and be able to account for dealership tools at al times
Wear eye protection and back protection, when appropriate

REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience: Ideal candidate will have:
Two years automotive mechanical experience or automotive trade school
Ability to read and comprehend instructions
Ability to exercise good judgement
Valid drivers license and good driving record
Ability to direct and earn respect from fellow Technicians
Good attendance recordRequired Education: Qualifications:
Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or successful completion of pre-employment test.
