Quality Engineer

Compensation:

This position will be responsible for Plans, develops, conducts and reports analysis of field data and field testing for OEM products by performing the following duties:

Analyzes field data including problem identification, trend analysis, and reports to internal and external customers. Conducts analysis of product failures using standard test probes, measurement equipment and specialized tools and software. Reports results using available quality databases. Carries out deep analysis of No-Trouble-Found (NTF) products to find and report root cause and suggests countermeasures. Enters and follows the progress of Global Correction Action (GCA) requests for Factory Defect units. Closes GCA’s as countermeasures are implemented. Follows up and reports on the GCA effectiveness to key quality contacts in Japan, Germany and Alpine factory quality personnel as required. Feeds back and communicate to subcontractor managers and technicians of GCA status and maintains countermeasure of action notices (ATN). Tests NTF products in an actual vehicle and on system test bench. Prepares product samples and participates in evaluation testing with OEM customer as required. Coordinates annual calibration of test equipment with subcontractor. Conducts periodic training of service subcontractor’s technicians on new technology and countermeasure actions. Communicates with Quality and Service engineers in Alpine affiliate offices on a regular basis. Prepares monthly reports of product quality based on analysis data reported by repair subcontractors. Provides technical support to OEM customers as required. Creates work instructions and tech logs for the subcontractor technicians. REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should process the following skills:

BA/BS in electronics technical or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Three or more years experience in repair/service of 12-volt consumer electronics products. Knowledge of OEM customer’s products and methods to analyze defective units. Excellent interpersonal and communication in verbal/written skills. Efficient Microsoft computer skills in Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
