Job Description:
Function:


Lead and coordinate overall project activities including Project Management, Hardware, Software (if applicable), Quality, Manufacturing and support function

Implement Program Management tools (Project Management at Siemens VDO Automotive) on all applicable projects (PDLP, Risk Management, etc…)



 


Tasks:


Lead planning, development and launch of segment projects

Communicate project status as appropriate within Siemens VDO and with customer

Represents product development team at the customer

Establish and maintain top layer of project time schedule

Create and maintain resource plan together with Line Managers

Support Sales and Business Development organization to resolve commercial / business issues

Organize and attend team meetings to define, coordinate, and follow continuous improvement activities regarding supplied components, design, and manufacturing processes.

Evaluate internal or external engineering change requests. Initiate necessary and coordinate actions to implement agreed changes in accordance with the Quality Management System requirements and Siemens VDO procedures

Insure the electronic concept is synchronized with different departments, in coordination with the mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality requirements

Insure the customer requirements are met

Planning, documentation, and organization according to the local Quality Management System requirements and apply P730001 (Product Development & Launch Procedure)

Develop risk reduction strategies for the project and define and implement measures

Negotiate requirements and budget changes in contract of the project with the customer together with General Management and Business Developer Achieve established targets for R&D, Quality, Delivery and Customer Satisfaction

Establish targets for Research and development, Quality, Delivery and Customer Satisfaction

Develop action plan with project team to achieve targets

Communicate status versus targets internally and with customer as appropriate Participate in establishing and improving a Powertrain Engine and Drivetrains North America Operating System

Attend and contribute in Staff and Operations Meetings

Contribute to the improvement of the Powertrain and Drivetrain Operating System

Drive adherence of operating system within the project teams



 


Knowledge:


Proven Project Management skills

Strong leadership and communication skills

Knowledge of Siemens VDO existing processes and rules and internal decision-making structures

Knowledge of methods and tools needed for leading and managing the project

Knowledge of Siemens VDO product development and launch procedure

Knowledge on project target costing and profitability analysis



 


Experience:


8-10 years overall experience with 4 years leadership and 3-4 years experience in project management for electronic automotive applications

Requirements:


Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Ability to work in, effectively manage, and foster a team environment

PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification is highly desirable
