Production Test Engineer

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the development of new or modification of existing test equipment used to verify function of electronic automotive control unit hardware. The duties include analyzing PCB schematics in order to specify test hardware needed to check the integrity of the assembly and develop software to control and automate the testing process.

The candidate will need to work directly with customer engineers and leaders, to negotiate some product requirements. The candidate will be responsible for working with customer engineers to ensure that testing goals are met, schedules are maintained, and problems encountered during the development process are satisfactorily resolved. The candidate will need to work with other project team members and report on issues related to test software design.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will:
-Possess a bachelor or masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering;
-Have a minimum of 2 -5 years applicable experience in software development and testing equipment;
-Have the ability to lead project development task management;
-Have experience interfacing with customers;
-Be knowledgeable in electronics and programming languages such as C++ and Visual Basic;
-Have experience with software development and calibration tools such as Analyzer and/or Canapé is preferred;
-Knowledge of communication protocols such as: J1850, CAN, and KWP2000;
-Have experience coordinating and facilitating several small projects or one major project.
