Production Engineer - Test

TRMI Inc., is a tier one Japanese automotive parts manufacturer located in Battle Creek, MI. TRMI is a subsidiary of Tokai Rika Japan (TRJ). TRMI has been in operation in North America since 1986 as part of the TRAM group. The TRAM group includes manufacturing plants in Ashley, Indiana (TRIN), Jackson, Michigan (TAC) and the North American headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan (TRAM). The TRAM group is using a wide array of state-of-the-art technologies to develop automotive parts and systems that provide drivers with the dependability, convenience and comfort they expect from their automobiles.

DESCRIPTION:

To provide engineering support for electronic and electro-mechanical test equipment including PCB, ICT, functional & EOL functional testing of automotive switches. Develop ICT & functional testing for PCB assemblies for both current and future production. Develop EOL testing for automotive switches, for current and future production. Develop test strategies to detect potential failure modes. Develop test strategy documentation. Create specifications for the procurement and implementation of test systems. Work with test equipment vendors to develop test systems for TRMI. Oversee and perform test system validation and acceptance from test equipment vendors. Generate/modify test programs to test switch assemblies. Lead/identify improvement activities based upon test pass/fail data. Increase first pass yields through continuous improvement activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Experience:

•5 Years experience in a test-engineering environment.
•Thorough knowledge of the principals of electrical, electronic & mechanical engineering.
•Familiarity with improvement process systems including identification, planning, implementation & auditing.
•Computer literacy and ability to operate computer controlled equipment.
•Ability to understand and interpret blueprints, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
•Thorough knowledge of the properties of and working experience with, electronic and electrical components.
•Good electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
•Good oral and written communication skills.
•Good team player.
•Good analytical and problem solving skills.
