Mercury Test Auto Specialist

Description:
The Testing Services Group (TSG) Test Automation Specialist will work collaboratively with application development teams across Brokerage IT to improve system quality and stability, developer productivity, and product time-to-market by helping teams maximize the effectiveness of their testing through automation.
The candidate will initially concentrate on the Mercury suite of tools, including test management, functional testing and application performance.
The candidate will work as part of a wider Services team to generate tool awareness, develop and deliver training on the appropriate use of tools, and assist testing teams with implementations and integration with other related tools.
The candidate should have substantial hands on expertise with the Mercury Tool suite.
This includes strong, practical knowledge of Test Director, Win Runner, Quick Test Pro, and Load Runner. The candidate will be the main contact point for many clients when questions come up regarding feature/function, and appropriate usage of these tools.
Further, the candidate will offer guidance to users regarding testing strategy and planning as it relates to tool usage.

The role requires extensive hands on experience implementing test automation as well as integration with other SDLC-supporting tools including:

• The capability to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance Preferred:
• Previous experience in a client services setting such as training or pre-sales product specialist is preferred
• Financial Services background preferred but not required
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:


8+ years hands-on testing experience spanning test-
o Test scripting
o Test environments setup
o Test tools and automation
o Test execution and reporting
o Test metrics definition, collection, reporting and analysis
• 5+ years experience directly involved in test automation implementation with 3+ years dedicated to Mercury tools implementation:
o Functional and regression testing o Capacity, performance and resilience testing
• Strong working knowledge of distributed technologies such as o OS: Linux (unix), NT
o Languages, Protocols, and Frameworks: HTML, XML, Perl, C++, Java, Javascript, SOAP, HTTP, TCP/IP, .NET
o Messaging: MQ
o Databases: Sybase, UDB DB2
• The candidate must have a 4-year degree in Computer Science and/or related discipline (MIS, Computer Science, or electrical engineering
