Job Description for Master Truck Mechanic:Performs specialized mechanical duties in the repair and maintenance of heavy duty tractor/trailer equipment.
Diagnoses and analyzes problems and makes repairs as necessary.
Works primarily on diesel engines, fuel injection, transmissions, electrical components, suspensions, air conditioning and air brake systems.
Follows predetermined preventive maintenance program.Performs inspections.
Provides technical guidance and direction to lower level personnel.
Utilizes hand held computers in diagnosing problems.

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal mechanic would have the following:High school diploma or Equivalent.
Vocational or technical school training preferred.Knowledge of parts and nomenclature.Knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.Must possess an in-state Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)Must possess State certifications in Diesel engines, Gasoline engines, Drive Trains, Brakes, Suspension & Steering, Electronic systems and Air Conditioning.Must supply complete set of tools.Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
