The City of Philadelphia, Office of Fleet Management (OFM) will be accepting applications for HEAVY DUTY VEHICLE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS beginning on August 28, 2006. We are seeking experienced Truck technicians who enjoy repairing a variety of heavy duty and complex vehicles and equipment including trucks, trailers, fire apparatus, tractors, cranes, construction, agriculture, snow and ice control and emergency equipment. If this fits your personality than we love to hear from YOU. The starting salary varies based on level of experience which can range from $39,499 – $43,537. All you need is 4 years of automotive maintenance experience, 1 year of specific heavy duty vehicle maintenance experience, and an ASE Master Heavy Truck certification. A commercial driver’s license, safety inspection (Level 7) license, and emissions license are also required.

Residency Waiver Note: The Civil Service Commission has waived the usual requirement that candidates must be residents of the City of Philadelphia for one year prior to date of appointment. REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.

AND

EXPERIENCE
Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade as a helper or apprentice.

AND

LICENSES
A valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a valid safety inspections license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
