Generator Mechanic/Serviceman

Generator Service & Sales company needs experienced diesel and generator mechanics. Company sells, maintains and services Home Stand-by, Industrial, Diesel and Portable Gas Generators.

Quality installations and service has been the key to our company's success and growth for over 34 years. We specialize in electrical, generators and rental equipment such as John Deere.

Experience with Generac, Onan & Caterpillar diesel models 25kw-500kw are what we need. Most Home Stand-by 7kw-16kw generators are Natural Gas or Propane fueled Air Cooled engines simular to riding lawn mowers. Automatic Transfer Switches and electrical work will also have to be troubleshot with generator operation.

We service an area east of Richmond to Va. Beach, VA. using Company Vans/truck. We occasionally service the Va. Eastern Shore. Personal hand tools are required from the employee.

Pay is based on experience with all types of engines and generators.

REQUIREMENTS
Must have knowledge and experience with engine repair and electrical Automatic Transfer Switches. Not looking to train unexperienced Mechanics at this time. Candidate must be dependable for daily service calls and appointments.

Driving Record must have no more than -5 Pts. to drive Co. Trucks

Must be mechanically inclined and willing to learn to troubleshoot and repair 7kw to 500kw engines (LP Propane, Nat. Gas or Diesel). Daily detailed paperwork and follow-up on parts orders is a must. Must be responsible to work alone and deal with customers on a daily basis for guaranteed repeat business and company growth.

Automotive, diesel or 2-cycle engine experienced mechanics are acceptable for starting position if generator experience is limited.

Electrical experience with controls and Automatic Transfer Switches is a plus but not required to start if a good mechanic.
Factory training in Wisconsin paid by the company
Candidate must have desire to learn electrical troubleshooting for transfer switches and home stand-by calls.
