Formulations Scientist

Implement medium and long-term development projects for OEM plastic coatings.
Support the Product Development Group to develop new polymers for OEM plastics markets by identifying needs and assessing materials during the product development program.
Evaluate experimental polymers against controls using industry test protocol and provide results and recommendations to development team.
Support customer evaluations of companies polymers of OEM plastics applications.
Develop technical literature for new products developed in this effort.
Provide training to company personnel, companies agents and customers.
Maintain records of experiments, results and conclusions.
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Minimum of five years technical expertise in OEM plastics coatings applications with strong waterborne experience. Formulation expertise in OEM plastics coatings and related paints. Knowledge of the polymers and additives used in above mentioned market formulations. Highly developed understanding of OEM plastics coatings requirements. Ability to travel as needed to support the evaluations and commercialization of new systems (estimate ~ 10%). Ability to work safely with the laboratories and customer facilities. Good record keeping skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good understanding of Design of Experiments. Good PC Skills. Experience using MS Word and Excel, Lotus Notes and E-Mail.
