Director of Association Services

Trade Association seeks Director of Association Services for an international organization whose members own and operate automotive and heavy-equipment service shops. The Director of Association Services will take responsibility for all membership recruitment, membership service programs and customer service helpline which answers basic technical inquiries from members (product search, repair and diagnostic questions, etc).

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:5 years experience in the automotive and/or heavy-equipment repair field as a mechanic, service writer, parts store manager, or auto-repair instructor.Technical experience along with sales and/or marketing skill a plus.Also possess a strong business orientation and experience, especially in the automotive repair and service industry.Experience working with non-profit associations and plus.

Required Skills:
Strong Troubleshooting skills – Must be able to determine causes of vehicle operating errors and determine a suggested course of action.Strong Active Listening skills (Helpline) – Must be able to give full attention to what members are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and offer solutions.Strong Customer Service Skills – Must be problem-solverMechanical Skills – Knowledge of automotive and/or heavy equipment service & repair, tools & machines, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.Excellent written and oral communication skills
