Description:

Works under the guidance of Project Leader. Capable of doing structural layouts, electro-mechanical packaging design and detailing using AutoCAD and Pro-E
software packages.

Functional
Responsible for conception, design and complete structural layouts for complex Industrial Control products and responsible for doing standard and complex mechanical drawings.
Develop electro-mechanical layouts and drawings of an unusual or complex nature which require a high degree of precision. Performs difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and design drafting experience.
Responsible for design and development of new enclosures, sheet metal parts and related hardware/components necessary for special control panels.
Completes projects in a timely manner consistent with A-B Standards and applicable specifications.
Recommends design and method changes. Analyzes the effect of each change on the details of form, fit, function and positioned relationships of components and parts that will lead to cost savings.
Responsible for working closely with peers, customers, vendors and manufacturing to resolve related design and/or manufacturing concerns.
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
Responsible for obtaining quotations on special parts and services for special projects.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent work experience.
Extensive background in sheet metal design and fabrication required.
