Development of software for testing and diagnosing vehicle electrical components

Strong level of analytical ability and problem solving skills with root cause analysis

Software problem resolution with limited supervision and under tight deadlines

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities

Design, development, and testing of software to be used for communication with vehicle electrical components

Interface with all parties impacting the product, in group and individual settings, locally and remotely, to identify software/vehicle performance issues and define problem resolutions in a timely manner

Responsible for providing production level support/problem resolution in a timely manner

Analyze and evaluate software performance issues/requirements and communications issues/requirements

Perform root cause analysis to identify improvements and updates

Create software programs to support vehicle testing and diagnostic applications

Coordinate task requirements with those in supporting activities

Required Skills/Experience
Knowledge of and training in databases, MS Visio, software programming tools and other Windows-based programs
Ability to work efficiently and consistently as part of a development team, in a production environment, under tight deadlines, and with limited direction and supervision
2+ years experience in all the following:

Ability to troubleshoot software problems and develop recommendations under tight deadlines

Proficiency in the use of analytical methods for problem solving with experience in root cause analysis

Experience in software design, development, testing, and debugging

Working knowledge of vehicle serial data communication protocols, data link testing tools and scan tools

Knowledge of basic vehicle electrical/electronics concepts and the ability to read electrical schematics

Project Management/Meeting facilitation experience

2 years 'C' programming experience for embedded platform configurations

Strong math and algebra skills
Preferred Skills/Experience

Experience working with JAVA and C/C++ in an embedded environment

Knowledge of Linux real-time operating system

Knowledge off XML

Required Education/Training

4-year college degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) with studies in Computer Science/Engineering
