CMM Inspector/Programmer

Purpose: Automotive Supplier in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a CMM Inspector.

Duties/Responsibilities

Candidates will be performing complex mechanical inspections to assist in the receiving inspection of production and engineering materials, and ensures documentation is complete and accurate. Candidates will also perform first article inspections, assure that measurement and test equipment is maintained properly and kept within calibration schedules. Performs GD&T functions such as complete dimensional layouts of complex components and assemblies with minimal guidance. Complete inspection reports, history logs, shop order travelers, Gage R&R forms, paperwork and following good documentation practices.

To be qualified for this position, individuals should be proficient in the use of a wide variety of precision inspection equipment used to measure parts with tight tolerances such as CMM, non-contact instruments (optical comparator, vision system, etc.), surface plate, various hand tools, gauges (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, go-no-go gauges), microscopes, etc. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics specs, engineering drawings, materials lists and inspection standards. Trained and practiced in applying geometric dimensioning and tolerating (GD&T) methods and understanding views and details, symbols, and drafting standards. Perform shop mathematics.
