Special Lines losses may involve motorcycle, watercraft, recreational vehicle, mobile home or snowmobile claims.

Must have successfully completed the Claims Rep Training Program (ERP)

- Meet the qualification in Progressive's Fleet policy both at time of hire and throughout employment
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and/or postsecondary education.

Relevant experience includes work as a claims adjuster, a property damage adjuster, or repair work within an automobile repair and/or body shop OR work experience in a position that developed or required the ability to think critically, solve problems, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and embrace new challenges.

Investigates insurance claims for loss or damages by:
- Inspecting and photographing damaged automobiles, Special Lines vehicles (motorcycle, watercraft, recreational vehicle, mobile home or snowmobiles), most commonly for basic sheet metal damage, minor fiberglass damage, minor water damage, and losses involving limited knowledge of the mechanical systems on these types of vehicles (yearly claims volume is comprised of at least 30% Special Lines product lines), and negotiate prices with repair service providers prior to the conduct of repairs.
- Understanding and comprehension of the Special Lines Physical Damage Guidelines.
- Gathering information on the status and treatment needs of actually or potentially injured person(s), most commonly for soft tissue injuries and mild-to-moderate sprain/strain, and evaluate cost of treatment or compensation.
- Interviewing, consulting and/or corresponding with insureds, claimants, witnesses, police reports, doctors records to confirm coverage.
- Conducting accident scene investigations, where appropriate.
- Positioning repair process options in relation to customers needs.
- Issuing payments and reviewing requests for supplemental repair orders.
- Obtaining titles and disposing of salvage.
- Setting up the subrogation of claims, where appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and/or postsecondary education.
