Automotive Technician Apprentice

Busy North Phoenix Auto and light truck repair center looking for two young people who are eager to learn automotive repair and service.

This is an ENTRY-LEVEL position, at first you will perform oil changes, clean up shop, empty trash, and whatever other duties that may be needed.

As a Technician Apprentice, you assist Technicians in all technical activities.

We will teach you over a scheduled period of time to become a journeyman technician who is fully certified and competent, and has his own tools.

Major activities include:Installs parts which include shock absorbers and exhaust systems. Changes transmission fluid and filters. Installs batteries and checks electrical systems. Road test vehicles.Learns how to diagnose and repair basic systems to become certified in a minimum of five areas with a preference for brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical. Progresses to the position, Technician.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be goal oriented, with positive attitude.

Tools are not required to start.

We are not looking to train someone and then have you move on with our skills, this should be viewed as a long term position with great advancement.

Must demonstrate the ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.

A high level of motivation and energy and strong customer service skills are also required.
