Automotive Advertising Sales Manager

The Charlotte Observer is looking for an experienced professional to lead our automotive advertising team as an Automotive Advertising Sales Manager in our Classified Advertising division. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with the largest news source in the area.

The Automotive Sales Manager will manage the activities of the automotive sales staff and drive revenue growth. The incumbent is also responsible for new account development and the growth of existing accounts within the established geographic area. The Automotive Sales Manager must be committed to maximizing annual sales and profits, developing and implementing sales strategies and coordinating the sales efforts of the retail sales staff. We are searching for a highly motivated, organized leader who is self-reliant and possesses the demonstrated ability to positively and effectively promote The Observer product.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have a BS in Marketing, Business, Advertising or Communications, with 5+ years in sales and 2+ years management experience in newspaper or magazine related environment. The successful candidate will possess effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), have strong conceptual and analytical skills, and have the ability to strategize business opportunities and analyze market research.
