TITLE: Automation Technician
POSITION PROFILE: This position is accountable to General Manager, optimization and installation of various types of automation devices that are used in packaging, process and plant operations

Skills
Has the knowledge of how different automation devices work and are integrated.
Using a PC can communicate to various devices to change logic, parameters, upload and download settings and logic to make the device operate as its intended.
Install, configure and repair all types of machine readable devices such as barcode scanner vision systems and RFID systems.
Understands how PC work and how they communicate through various protocols to obtain data and other information to control and monitor various processes.
Ability to read and generate electrical and mechanical drawing.
Has the skill to fabricate control systems panels, program the devices on the panel, install and debug on required process.
Has the ability to direct internal and external resources to completed assigned projects in timely fashion.

Effort
Make effort to maximize production by assuring that all the systems on all the process work at optimum efficiency
Walking, standing, reaching, lifting, observing and communicating up and downstream of chain of command.
Good attendance is required, and must be available to work overtime.

Responsibility
Responsible to the safe and efficient operation of assigned control systems.
Make sure that all the programmable devices are parameters and logic are properly backed-up to insure efficient recovery in an event of failure.
Work in a safe environment utilizing current Company, AIB, cGMP and OSHA safety policies and procedures. Report all accidents, injuries, and irregularities.
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Working Conditions
Work environment is very diverse involving the following environments; mfg., warehouse (non-climate control), outdoors (all seasons- hot, cold, humid, damp, mild, etc.)
Work five 8-hour/four 10-hour shift with overtime as needed.
Must be available to work on Saturdays/Sundays and holidays as required. Work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as required
