Automation Sales
Basic Function: To promote and generate sales of Rockwell automation products in an assigned territory by providing technical assistance to distributor sales force, making sales calls, analyzing market, and planning promotions. Provide training to customers and distributor personnel on new and existing products.


Job Functions (include but are not limited to):

Prepare and implement sales strategies for the following products in conjunction with the Sales Manager:
Programmable controllers
Technical services
Drive and Motor products
Industrial controls
Motion controls operator interfaces
Software
Data collection (Bar code, RF)
Provide sales and technical assistance and direction to Account Managers upon request.
Analyze customer requirements and assist Account Managers as needed with projects. Communicate with appropriate distributor personnel regarding the status of these projects.
Provide assistance to the Account Managers in promoting new products in their sales areas.
Provide training for new and existing products in conjunction with Allen Bradley Sales Engineer for distributor sales people and customers.
Ensure that demonstration and training equipment is available for the distributor personnel.
Ensure that current product literature is available for presentation to customers.
Responsible for direct communications with automation suppliers regarding technical applications, information, new products, promotions, etc.
Analyze and evaluate the assigned market area for all automation products. Provide a detailed analysis of the market mix and potential.
Provide assistance in analyzing inventories to insure they are current. Communicate lead time problems to sales force and customers.
Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS
Automation Sales
Education/Skills/Experience Required:
College degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years experience in industrial electrical sales; Rockwell Automation controls experience preferred
Goal-oriented and self-motivated
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and customer contact skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer literacy; Microsoft Office preferred
