Account Manager, Automotive Tier 1

Full commercial responsibility for defined projects with Ford, GM [or other specified Tier 1 business] such as new programs, alternative production scenarios, or Model Year design changes. In the defined areas, the Account Manager will be the primary customer contact and the internal sales contact for our other departments.

Responsibility for projects include:
1. Sales price and cost of sales tracking for all goods and services sold to Ford & GM or specified Tier 1’s.
2. Conduct profitability analysis as needed for new quotes, design change quotes, and to evaluate impact of sales price and cost changes.
3. Maintain internal and customer required tooling and development cost tracking sheets. Track design change quotation status and history.
4. Compilation and quoting of obsolete part claims.
5. Determine and apply annual pricing adjustments to all affected parts.
6. In addition, the Account Manager will work with the administrative staff to issue tooling and prototype part invoices and to ensure proper payment is received.
· Must be able to organize, summarize and analyze large amounts of pricing information.
· Strong written and oral communication skills (demonstrated through past experience).
· Must be able to effectively communicate discrepancies between our company’s information and customer information and to "negociate" corrections.
· Ability to identify and focus on priority issues with limited direction from Management.

Products:
Custom moldings, splash guards in an extensive range of surface finishes. Complete design and production of decorative and functional integrated exterior body parts based on polymer materials.
Complete windshield and headlamp washer systems - including water reservoirs, assembly pumps, hoses, and cowl screens. We offer the option of heating all components (reservoirs, hoses and nozzles) - for optimum cleaning and for protection against freezing in winter.
Air duct components, a variety of thermoplastic sealing components [both universal windshield moldings and custom-fit, OEM-specified components from windshield moldings to injection-molded accessories.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years experience selling to Ford and/or GM.
- Able to demonstrate good track record for winning business with Domestic OEMs
- Experience selling plastic extruded exterior components a plus
- Proficient in the use of Ford or GM’s quoting & use of the e-portal systems.
- Engineering Degree a plus, but not mandatory
- Minimum requirement is a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with SAP a plus.
- Minimum five to eight years professional experience in the OEM/Supplier Automotive environment with direct customer contact.
- Demonstrated track record for winning new business, and closing commercial issues.
