• Build and maintain a strong, effective, and respected Human Resources organization that is capable of delivering the Company’s growth and profitability agendas. Institute a Human Resources culture that is proactive and anticipatory, viewed by its internal clients, at all levels, to be absolutely expert, leading edge, confident, thorough, strategic, effective and vital to the organization’s success. • Establish procedures that ensure that the Company attracts, develops and retains high quality talent, at all levels, in a continuous pipeline, to support the growth objectives, opportunities and strategies of the company. • Play an active leadership role in the Company’s commitment to increase shareholder value by facilitating the development of strategic initiatives targeted at achieving productivity and cost effectiveness gains. • Increase the accountability and execution around the performance management process to enhance performance, development and talent management throughout the organization. Drive more focus on executive coaching and the formation of more balanced teams. • An active participant in that the succession planning process to build and support key leadership positions now and for the future. Education/Certifications Baccalaureate degree from an accredited University. A Certification in Human Resources preferred.

Requirements:

Professional Qualifications • Ten or more years of professional experience, including significant time spent as a principal human resource leader within an industrial or manufacturing environment which has a high hourly-employee count. • Particular expertise in performance management and organizational development with some experience in budget oversight; a proven track record in the supervision of others; strong knowledge of best practices and key trends in the Human Resources function; an active role in a corporate ethics and compliance program; ability to effectively influence others at all levels; outstanding oral and written communication skills; and an ability to earn the opportunity to “sit at the leadership table.” • Experience as a strategist able to show how his/her programs and policies have contributed to the growth and bottom line profitability of an organization while enhancing or driving cultural change. • Credibility as a trusted advisor and confidant to senior management on business issues and business strategy with the ability to link Human Resources as a driver and influencer of business performance. • Having worked within a cyclical business that requires creative staffing solutions, and occasional downsizing, would be a plus. • Comprehensive Human Resources experience including a complete understanding of and hands on exposure to the full mix of Human Resources functions. This includes employee and labor relations (Union contract negotiations), compensation, benefits, organizational effectiveness, HRIS, staffing and compliance. • Use HRIS systems to create and track metrics to measure activity results and successes of all manpower issues. Regularly monitor metrics and address issues one-on-one with business leaders with intent to partner with them to not only assess root cause but recommend a menu of appropriate solution sets.

Skills • Business acumen, with an ability to understand complex business issues and add value to their resolution. Someone with sound judgment, good financial and strategic skills, and the ability to contribute to the organization beyond just the scope of human resources. • Because this division has a strong Hispanic employee population and manufacturing plants in Mexico, Spanish speaking skills and an appreciation for working within the Hispanic culture would be a significant plus. • Analytical – able to cut through multiple sources of data and discern actionable information. • Demonstrated ability to serve in a consultative role to senior management. • Outstanding assessment skills. Personal Characteristics • Have the competence, stature and presence to quickly establish credibility within the organization. • Culturally diverse – able to interact and find common ground with a widely diverse hourly population. • Strong intellectual power and business acumen – knows growth stages and inflection points and has a global perspective of what is needed to get to the next level of growth and insure leadership is well established within the business. • An individual of unquestioned personal and business integrity who will be viewed as credible and trustworthy both within the Company, as well as with external relations. • Has the political savvy to negotiate agreements among competing interests while enhancing a common good for the organization. • Tough minded, driven for results executive – success will require a strong presence. • Relationship builder – must be strong force to pull people together and to rally the organization around common goals and common culture. • High energy, insatiable curiosity and an active mind. Willingness to challenge the status quo to develop new alternatives to anticipated problems or issues. • Open-minded and self-confident with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
