Unix / Windows Administrator / Technical Support

Responsibilities :SHIFT (ROTATIONAL AND TBD)· Provide Level 2 server software support to customers. This includes support of the Unix and Windows 2K/NTOperating Systems.· Install server Operating Systems according to documented procedures and/or customer specific needs.
· Provide support and assist Managed Services level 3 OS and DBA administrators.· Coordinate with helpdesk, assist as required in performing hardware and software related changes as requested by the customer.
· Assist the Network Management group and Help Desk with customer server/network monitoring and connectivity issues utilizing the monitoring tool set.
· Rack and install server and network hardware for customers.
· Understand the infrastructure cabling topology of the data center, run / punch down network cabling from switches or patch panels to customer cabinets or suites.
· Receive and ship inventory on an as needed basis.
· Utilize the Enterprise Management Systems tool set, monitor for new tasks or problems as they relate to the Hosting Operations area of responsibilities.
· Provide reporting and feedback to management through documentation and appropriate daily turnover reporting.
· Provide an understanding of the data center electrical infrastructure and distribution systems, working knowledge of the emergency systems and security procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications :· Min of 2 years experience in data center operations.
· Min of 1-year experience of operating, configuring, and administering server operating systems (NT and Unix/Solaris).
· Understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
· Ability to setup and configuration Server Hardware.
· Sun Solaris Administrator, MCSE or Cisco certification a plus.
· Previous experience in a role involving direct customer contact (internal and external) highly preferred.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds as needed for test set up.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.· Good organizational skills.
· Must be able to work shift weekend and/or rotational work as needed.
· Must be self-motivated, team player, and able to immediately contribute to a fast paced, deadline intensive environment.
· Must be able to learn quickly in a highly technical fast paced environment.
· Proficiency in Windows based applications, WORD, EXCEL and database experience.
