Technical Lead - Server Admin
TECHNICAL LEAD - IT SERVER ADMINISTRATION
GRADE: 59
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Server Administration Technical Lead position is:
Provide technical direction to and development of server team
Influence team to maintain IT Service Level Agreements
Strategically plan and implement Server /SAN technologies that support company initiatives and customer requirements.
Establish and adhere to LAN procedures regarding access methods, security validations and documentation.
Develop, document and manage IT project implementation plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT Server Administration Technical lead allocates time as follows: 60% to staff development, project management and departmental strategic planning. 40% to Strategic Server and SAN. All aspects of this position include customer support, project management, strategic planning, administrative tasks, training and other professional development.
Primary job duties include:
Provide technical direction to server team
Directs major projects and/or programs
Strategic Design and Implementation of Server and SAN Technologies
Maintains IT SLA for Server and SAN Systems
Manage and Strengthen Vendor Partnerships
Manages and reports ticket volume using Six Sigma and SPC Methodologies
Utilizes Remedy Application to manage, track and complete assigned customer tickets.
Creates weekly status reports of assigned project status, system events and evaluations.
Provides escalated support to Technology Response Center.
REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field or the equivalent in work experience plus. Master level studies desired
Eight (8) + years of directly related work experience.
Eight (8) + years experience in data system implementation and trouble shooting technical problems.
Three (3) to five (5) years of leadership and skill development experience
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing IT projects of large scope and size
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft BackOffice Suite
Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
Advanced knowledge of Dell PowerEdge Servers.
Advanced knowledge of EMC SAN Technologies.
