Our Investment Bank is one of the world’s top global investment banking and securities firms, providing a full spectrum of products to institutional and corporate clients, intermediaries, government and hedge funds worldwide.The UBS Investment Bank based in Stamford, Connecticut is seeking candidates for a Support Analyst to support the FIRC IT GSD Derivatives (Fixed Income Rates & Currencies, Global Services Delivery) IT applications. The Derivatives GSD IT team supports a number of proprietary trading and risk-management applications used by the global Structured Derivatives businesses. The Derivatives GSD team supports a number of proprietary trading and risk-management applications used by the global Structured Derivatives business. The GSD team is responsible for overall availability of the applications and controls deployment & releases, contingency planning and maintenance of applications in production. In addition we are responsible for strategic tools that will benefit the Structured GSD space. The team is globally distributed the main areas are represented in Stamford, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. These locations mirror the presence of UBS Investment Bank’s Structured Rates and Credit desks trading desks. The applications we support are used for pricing, structuring, trade entry, risk management, and risk control of all Structured Derivatives products traded by UBS Investment Bank. The role is for a Support Analyst in Stamford, CT who will interact with the business to ensure consistent service delivery and availability of systems. You will be responsible for understanding the business needs and delivering the solution in a timely manner. The team you will work to provide service delivery and application availability for the Structured Derivatives desks and a high level of business knowledge is essential for this role. You will liaise with both the business and your own teams Application specialists in achieving your service delivering the business requirements. You will act as the primary point person for Business issues and maintain ownership of that issue through the solution lifecycle.The ability to master new technology, and effectively adapt knowledge and skills is absolutely essential. The Structured Derivatives business uses a wide array of technologies; our systems and infrastructure are expected to evolve rapidly in response to changing market needs. Candidate must be highly detail oriented with good organizational and multi-tasking skills.Key skills & responsibilities will include: Be the primary point person for all daily Business interaction and technical application support. Ensure that the business and development is versed on current support issues. Manage escalation from the business and drive through delivery/solutions. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels with the business and other IT areas. Collaborate on projects with colleagues in various different teams across the world. Coordinate with the appropriate development and application specialist to deliver solutions to the Business. Maintain the integrity and availability of core business systems and ensure applications work effectively in a real time environment. Control risks and costs within own area (e.g. through automation and by using time/resources efficiently). Assist in documenting an efficient GSD standard support model. Ensure all audit requirements are adhered to and met.Preferred Qualifications:Candidates should possess experience on at least a number of the skill sets listed below: Experience in both Unix and Windows environments including windows clients. Prior experience with large-scale transactional client-server systems. Practical application support experience, preferably in a Financial Services organization. Familiarity with Rational ClearCase suite, web technologies JSP, XML, DHTML and HTTP servers is a decided asset. Experience delivery of business applications. Proven business knowledge and how that relates to the technology in use Ability to develop and extend knowledge and understanding of technology and business incidents and be able to order, identify and prioritize incidents and their solutions. Individuals must be self-starting be customer focused and able to coordinate between disparate groups. Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and possess the desire to learn. Basic Qualifications:A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
