Supply Chain Contract Specialist

1. Assists departments during the requisition process from routine to complex purchases over the bid threshold , including contracts for goods and services, capital equipment and leases.

2. Reviews departmental purchase requisitions for accuracy of information, determines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, etc and contracts department or initiator to clarify or complete information.

3. Reviews routine to complex purchases and assesses the marketplace to identify appropriate suppliers, products and services in response to identified needs; works with departments and end users to develop the specifications and requirements for the required goods, services and equipment in the contracts.

4. Solicits department specifications and requirements with requests for quotation (RFQ), requests for proposal RFP or requests for information(RFI); prepares bid specifications, issue bid requests and reviews quotations received.

5.Identifies new or different products to meet the requisitioner's needs through discussions with suppliers, attendance at suppliers conferences, on line research, etc.

6. Negotiates routine to complex contracts, identifies suppliers and awards contracts in accordance with the Supply Chain Organization objectives and Supply Chain Policies and procedures; receives necessary approvals , if needed and address legal issues, as appropriate, to facilitate contract closure.
REQUIREMENTS
1 Bachelor,s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or in equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary.

2. A minimum of three years of experience related to contract administration, negotiation and decision-making or four years of combined buying experience to include Supply Chain principles and practices experience necessary.

3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Internet and computer hardware is necessary.

4.Proven ability in providing strong customer service.
