Performance Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services, to supervise and coordinate the Office of Student Outreach of the College; assess high school and community student needs, and coordinate appropriate services; supervise staff; and provide program direction.
a. Organize, assign, coordinate, and direct a variety of work related to the operation of the Golden West College Office of Student Outreach.
b. Formulate and implement program policies and procedures consistent with federal and state laws and guidelines.
c. Serve as primary Designated School Official for student outreach.
d. Coordinate student outreach process and procedures.
e. Select, train, supervise, and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
f. Develop and administer the program budget.
g. Ensure accuracy of data required for state compliance.
h. Assist in the coordination of college and high school partnerships.
i. Act as the liaison to GWC feeder high schools and promote early intervention programs including but not limited to early assessment, tutoring, counseling, and courses to prepare students for the GWC experience.
j. Serve as a liaison with student services management team, division deans, faculty, and other administrative areas.
k. Serve as a member of the student services management team, and share in the supervision of the college with other managers as assigned.
l. Keep up-to-date statistics and prepare reports on Student Outreach Office, such as number of students contacted, number of students that subsequently enrolled, and other relevant student outreach data.
m. Provide college-wide leadership on issues related to student outreach through coordination of workshops and seminars for faculty, students, and staff.
n.Act as the liaison to community organizations, businesses, charitable groups, and community agencies.
o. Serve on Outreach Advisory Committee.
p. Coordinate the electronic and written correspondence to prospective students.
q. Coordinate the student ambassador program and college tours.
r. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications
Bilingual ability in English and at least one other language.
Conditions of Employment
This is a regular, full-time, 12-month per year Classified Management position. The normal hours of work will be 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, including evening and weekend events as scheduled. The effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.

Pay Philosophy
Starting salaries for support staff positions begin at Step-1 of the salary range. The first salary advancement is at the end of the 6-month probationary period. Further advancements are on an annual basis.
Starting salaries for management and supervisory positions are based on a combination of education, qualifications and experience. Initial placement is within the starting salary range. Further advancements are based on initial salary placement.
Starting salaries for academic positions are based on a combination of education and experience. Initial placement is within the starting salary range. Further advancements are based on longevity and professional development. An additional annual stipend is offered for possession of an earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
Additional Required Qualifications
Certificates
1. Must possess a valid, appropriate, and unrestricted California Driver's License.
2. Use of personal vehicle for local travel in performance of job duties will be required on an occasional basis.

Benefits:
The District provides a comprehensive benefit program effective the first calendar day of the month following the first day of regular employment. A variety of medical plans covering employees are available, with the District paying the major portion of the cost. In addition, the employees are offered fully paid Dental, Vision, Life, and Income Protection coverage. Employees and their eligible dependents may also participate in Optional Group Life Plans at their own expense.
