Sr. Research Associate

SAIC-Frederick, Inc., a subsidiary of SAIC and the operations and technical support contractor for the National Cancer Institute-Frederick, Inc., has a immediate opportunity for a Sr. Research Associate who will serve as the evening-shift supervisor of the Flow Cytometry Section of the AIDS Monitoring Laboratory. The lab is dedicated to the study of immune function in persons receiving novel therapies for HIV infection. Responsibilities include supervising technical personnel, organizing lab workflow and schedules, training staff, monitoring lab QA/QC programs, developing and troubleshooting lab protocols, analyzing and managing various data and administering lab safety programs. Technical responsibilities will include the operation of a flow cytometer and cell-sorter. Work will involve handling HIV-infected specimens under BL-3 safety conditions. Working hours are Monday through Friday 2:00-10:30 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a field related to biomedical research or equivalent experience in the appropriate field. (Biological Science, Medical Technology, Immunology or related field) and a minimum of 7 years related biomedical experience including experience in a lead/supervisory role is required. Must be proficient with Windows-based computer systems and programs.
