Special Events Manager
SPECIAL EVENTS MANAGER
A national non-profit organization is seeking an experienced results-oriented professional to join our Development team. The primary focus will be on corporate events in which event experience is required. Ideal candidate must be a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who can lead event staff, volunteer committees and participants to enhance the organization’s community awareness and financial support of the mission of the organization. The right candidate must also possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Prospective applicants must illustrate a strong record of developing fund-raising strategies, building relationships, cultivating, soliciting and sponsorship development. They must be a highly organized, motivated and team-oriented person who excels at adherence to deadlines, managing changing priorities and problem solving. Candidate should be able to demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication abilities. Computer skills are also essential, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel. Bachelor’s degree required as well as a minimum of three years progressively responsible development experience, and a proven record of success in event planning, fundraising and team development. Some local travel and the ability to work beyond normal business hours, including an occasional weekend, is required.
Responsibilities to include:
Daily development activities:
•Assist in the development, planning and implementation of a systematic annual corporate leadership events (gala, women’s luncheons, corporate events) budget to generate financial support
•Manage existing corporate leadership events and develop new events as warranted
•Identify, cultivate and solicit private, corporate and public sector support and build relationships with prospective donors, event teams and event participants
•Identify, develop, build and support corporate sponsor relationships
•Work closely with volunteer committees
•Oversee the quality, production, mailing lists and mailing of promotional and development materials
•Track and analyze fundraising results and strategies
•Utilize organization-wide database for corporate leadership event activities
•Manage the day-to day activities of the corporate leadership events
